Aimee Mackovic is a published author, published poet and yet-to-be produced screenwriter whose case of waunderlust has lead her to New York, Southern California, and now, happily, to Austin. She's moved over a dozen times and lived in seven states, so if you ask her where she's from, she'll pull out her cell phone and check her current location before answering. She earned a BA in Theatre from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC before moving to New York City to quote-unquote start living. She returned to school in 2003 and earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. Her chapbook of poetry, A Sentenced Woman, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2007. She has had poems appear in Main Street Rag, Barbaric Yawp, Red Lion Poetry Square online poetry podcast and Blood Lotus online literary journal, among others. She currently teaches online with Keiser University. In her spare time, she plays with her nephew, works on writing poetry, plays with her three-legged dog, practices her guitar and Bikram yoga. You can usually find her buried in her laptop in a local coffee shop.
