Listings Editor

Born in Houston, Ryan grew up in the small town of Columbus near the banks of the Colorado River. He would later attend school at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a degree in both Radio-Television-Film and in Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian Studies.

Originally joining CultureMap Austin as an intern when the site launched in the summer of 2011, Ryan would continue writing for CultureMap as a regular contributor, at least when he wasn't too busy slinging cupcakes out of an Airstream trailer. Now the site's listing editor, Ryan enjoys writing about Austin's rich cultural scene in between his many hours spent at the Alamo Drafthouse and local indie wrestling shows.
