Austin Parks Foundation (APF) partners with the community to enhance people's lives by making Austin's public parks, trails, and green spaces better through volunteerism, innovative programming, advocacy, and financial support. APF fosters innovative public and private partnerships, and since 2006 has given over $2.5 million in community-initiated grants in service to the greater Austin community. APF is known for its annual flagship volunteer event, It's My Park Day, and is a presenting partner and beneficiary of the popular Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Metropolitan Park.

On the citywide volunteer event It's My Park Day, thousands of Austinites come together to help improve and transform parks, trails, and greenbelts throughout Austin. Volunteer projects include city-approved tree mulching, root collar clearing, habitat restoration, and trail maintenance, as well as park and creek cleanups. APF's annual fundraiser Party for the Parks, held at Austin's very first park Republic Square, features bites curated by some of Austin's top restaurants and drinks by favorite local brands. The evening also showcases a stellar live auction experience, fun activities, and live music.

APF’s Ambassador Program provides a unique and meaningful volunteer experience that allows residents to play a pivotal role in helping strengthen Austin's city’s park system. Ambassadors are trained volunteers who act as representatives for APF. Benefits include unique APF merchandise, networking and educational opportunities available to all volunteers, leadership development, and advance invitations to volunteer at APF-related events including Party for the Parks and Austin City Limits Music Festival. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. To apply, head here.
