Godard never stopped making films, but during the ‘70s his work took some decidedly audience-unfriendly turns, even by his standards. Here, he drops the video camera and the little red book and makes his emotionally and artistically mature return to arthouse screens with a masterful film about sex, work and the stunted promise of the sixties.
