AFS Presents: Funny Ha Ha by Andrew Bujalski
It's the film that started the movement we came to call mumblecore. Andrew Bujalski has made several excellent movies since, and if you haven’t seen Funny Ha Ha in years, or if you’ve never seen it at all, it is well worth a visit. Bujalski’s sympathetic portrait of weird, smart, awkward young people has paved the way for many other films, and has finally landed in mass culture as one of the key components of the DNA of Lena Dunham’s Girls. It’s an American classic already and AFS is honored to welcome Andrew Bujalski to the Marchesa to present his 35mm print of it.
