eventdetail

As the Texas weather grows chillier, there is no better way to celebrate the season than with the Austin Civic Orchestra's exciting Fall Concert. The orchestra welcomes renowned composer Anthony Iannaccone as one of the guest artists for this concert. He will talk about his powerful piece, Dancing on Vesuvius, which will then be conducted by Music Director Lois Ferrari. The strings will be featured in a performance of Vaughan Williams’ gorgeous Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and will accompany ACO Member Concerto Competition winner Andrew Rogers on Bottesini's Concerto No. 2 in B minor for double bass. The evening will be rounded out with the exciting Danzon No. 2 by Marquez and the enchanting Mother Goose Suite by Maurice Ravel.
