Austin Film Festival presents: The Andromeda Strain

eventdetail
Made in Texas series journeys into the extraordinary world of sci-fi with the cinematic adaptation of Michael Crichton’s THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN. Famed director Robert Wise faithfully translates Crichton’s story to the screen, focusing on a satellite that returns to Earth, bringing with it a mysterious virus that decimates a small town. A team of scientists must race against the clock to solve the satellite’s deadly secret before it’s too late.

After the screening, stay for a Q&A with Rodney Brunet of Troublemaker Digital Studios. Rodney will discuss the remarkable advances in visual effects that we’ve experienced between THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN and the movies of today, focusing on the work he has done at Troublemaker on the films of Robert Rodriguez.
