Sunday School is a monthly family-friendly series which aims to introduce young audiences to global classics that parents and kids can enjoy together. Sunday School is guest programmed by local cinephile and mom, Stacy Brick.

Sunday School family-friendly screenings includes:

  • May 27: Time Bandits - 11-year-old Kevin discovers he can travel through time by pushing through a wall in his bedroom. He joins a band of dwarves to hop through time and space to steal riches meeting the likes of Napoleon (Ian Holm), Robin Hood (John Cleese), and King Agamemnon (Sean Connery) along the way. The film is directed by Terry Gilliam and was written by Gilliam and his Monty Python mates, Michael Palin, John Cleese, and Eric Idle.
  • June 17: Beasts Of The Southern Wild - 6-year-old Hushpuppy (Quvenzhané Wallis) and her father, Wink (Dwight Henry), live in the Bathtub, a Delta community about to wash off the face of the earth. Hushpuppy’s mother has abandoned the two – her father says she swam away. When Wink gets sick Hushpuppy is left alone to ride out the coming storm and the creatures (real and imagined) it unearths. The film is a beautiful meditation on the resilience of children.
