Beerthoven Concert Series presents Invoke

Invoke encompasses traditions from across America, including bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle tunes, jazz, and minimalism. The group, currently the Young Professional String Quartet in Residence at the University of Texas at Austin,weaves all of these traditions together to create truly unique contemporary string quartet repertoire, written by and for the group. 

This program will feature Mark O'Connor's String Quartet No. 2 "Bluegrass" as well as music by Ravel and original music by Invoke. Invoke's return to Beerthoven will also be a return to music by Peter Schickele with his Piano Quintet No. 1, joined by Beerthoven Founder and Director Daniel Swayze at the piano. In addition, free refreshments will be served at the show including beer from Lazarus Brewery, hand-made pretzels from Easy Tiger, wine, and more.
