There is no doubt that sport holds an important place in Western culture and literature, and many would say that it is almost sacred in its position in culture. Drawing exclusively from the Ransom Center's collections, the literature of sport will be on display through fiction, poetry, essays, and plays from writers including Hemingway, Oates, Huxley, La Motta, and many more. Whether it's baseball or bullfighting, the displayed literary works capture the appeal of the sport and how it can fundamentally change the individual and society.

The exhibit will be on display until August 2, 2013.
