Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the Harry Ransom Center on Friday, February 14, for the opening celebration for the Ransom Center’s new exhibition "The World at War, 1914–1918." "Love & War" allows guests a first look at the exhibition, a chance to pose with your date in the photo booth, and enjoy a signature cocktail and light bites while listening to hand-cranked phonographs courtesy of Austin Phonography Society. Wright Bros. Brew & Brew provides complimentary coffee and donuts on the plaza, modernizing the popular war-time “Doughnuts for Doughboys” campaign.

Drawing on the Ransom Center’s extensive collections, this exhibition illuminates the experience of the First World War from the point of view of its participants and observers, preserved through letters, drafts, and diaries; memoirs and novels; and photographs and propaganda posters.
