The VORTEX, Teatro Vivo, ProyectoTEATRO, and Avante Theatre Project will present the third annual FuturX Festival of new and avant-garde LatinX performance. This three-weekend festival celebrates the many permutations and intersections of LatinX identity in the 21st Century and beyond, featuring work that dives deep into the complexities of Latinidad.

The virtual event will be an interactive online LABERINTO where audiences can wander from Zoom room to Zoom room to experience Loteria fortune telling, life coaching sessions, burlesque performances, magic rituals, divine tias, DJ sessions, late night ride shares, and more from artists whose Latinidad is queer, trans, feminist, Afrolatinx and indigenous.

The flagship event on November 20 and 21 will be an online broadcast of new work from ProyectoTEATRO exploring and critiquing José Vasconcelos’ “Raza Cosmica.”

The FuturX Festival highlights virtual, original performances created for the festival by dozens of artists including ProyectoTEATRO, Ben Bazan, Florinda Bryant, Laura de la Fuente, Marina de la Fuente, Marina DeYoe-Pedraza, Carl Gonzales, Krysta Gonzales, Lily Gonzales, Siri Gurudev, Line 720, Lilli Lopez, Chola Magnolia, Nava Mau, Jessica Peña, Eva Reyes, Gricelda Silva, Teatro Quarantine, and Tia Diosas.
