GirlForward Austin presents "Identity: An Evening of Art, Education, and Community"

"Identity" will include a photo exhibit featuring photographs and stories of young female immigrants, all GirlForward participants, and explores different aspects of their identities such as cultures, communities, perspectives and dreams. There will also be a screening of a documentary short by Mexican-American filmmaker Gemma Garcia, who seeks to explore GirlForward participants cultures, identities, strengths and dreams through interviews and conversations.

The event will also include tunes by Chulita Vinyl Club and Indimaj; food by Abo Youssef and NadaMoo; drinks by Nine Banded Whiskey, Austin Eastciders, Topo Chico, and Thirsty Planet Brewing Company; and vendors + folk like MonkeyWrench Books, BookWoman, Indivisible Austin, Crafters Paradise, The Audacity, and Frida Friday ATX.
