Hotel Ella will continue its Salon Series, inviting guests to sip on drink specials while being regaled with little-known tales of local artists and their work.
The next salon series will be on Wednesday, February 15 from 6-8 pm, where Carl McQueary will complete his exploration of the Texas Modernists whose art graces the walls of historic hotel. For this closing chapter, guests are also invited to join McQueary in the Parlor Bar from 5-6 pm for a pre-salon happy hour and informal discussion about the artists’ lives as UT art faculty in mid-century Austin.
The next three salon series will focus on music and will be led by singer-songwriter Darden Smith:
- March 8 - "On Everything"
- April 5 - "Songwriting with Solders" (a portion of proceeds will go to Songwriting with Soldiers)
- May 10 - "Stories and Songs with Darden Smith"
