eventdetail

The Long Center for the Performing Arts will present Montopolis as part of Viewfinder, a series featuring new music from cutting edge instrumental bands and art created by local artists.

Montopolis is an ambient classical group that performs the works of composer Justin Sherburn. Their music folds country and folk idioms into modern classical arrangements with inventive instrumentation. Their programs are audience-engaging, multi-media events that combine live music with photography and interactive storytelling. Though there are many contributors, the current touring ensemble includes pianist Justin Sherburn, violinist Leigh Mahoney, violist Alejandro Duque, cellist Sara Nelson, and pedal steel guitarist Bob Hoffnar.
