The Paramount Theatre and Preservation Austin will present Matthew Christopher for its annual Preservation Speaker Night. Mr. Christopher is a photographer whose website, Abandoned America, looks to capture both the mesmerizing beauty and lost history of the derelict buildings and abandoned spaces dotting our country's landscape. His aim as a photographer is to retain the history and essence of neglected sites before (and after) they are gone forever.

Mr. Christopher's talk will discuss his work on abandoned sites. The event aims to draw attention to the preservation of Austin's culture and architectural heritage and to increase awareness about the scope of our preservation activities, the preservation movement in Austin, and all the great organizations in Austin carrying out important preservation work.
