The Austin chapter of Room to Read presents a special Battle of the Bands event that gives the attendees great live music, cool raffle prizes AND the power to choose the winner  — all while supporting children's education in developing countries.

Cast your vote for your favorite band by either purchasing a ticket or donating at the event in their name. The band that raises the most funds for Room to Read will be the winner. The bands that will be "battling" are Airplanes Above Us, The Lonesome Band, Jazz Crab, Feedback, Closet Drama and Dan Nettles.

There will also be a raffle whose prizes include a guitar from Austin Bazaar and gift cards from Amy's Ice Cream, Frank, How Do You Roll?, Juiceland, Lick It, Mettle, The Peached Tortilla, Pluckers, SUP ATX, Ten Thousand Villages, Texas Rowing Center, Third Base, Tiff's Treats, and Whole Foods.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Room to Read, an international organization focused on improving literacy and gender equality in education across developing countries in Asia and Africa.
