Hailed as "one of the country's most compelling roots artists," Slaid Cleaves will be performing at The Saxon Pub.
Originally from New English, Slaid Cleaves moved to Austin at the tail end of 1991 and wound up living near the legendary Horseshoe Lounge. Years later, Slaid would make a name for himself in the music world with his breakout CD Broke Down, featuring "Horseshoe Lounge," an ode Austin's 46-year-old beer joint.
Today, Cleaves has propelled himself beyond open mics and running sound at the legendary Cactus Cafe. He has become a national touring artist, garnering attention from The New York Times as "one of the finest songwriters from Texas." Fame aside, however, Slaid does not forget his roots and returns to Austin to deliver an anticipated performance.
