"Faces & Places" is a one night only fundraiser event completely envisioned and executed by students of St. Michael's Catholic Academy. The idea for this show came about when a small group of photographers took an extracurricular class focusing on advanced photography in the city. During their expeditions, they discovered that their interactions while photographing people experiencing homelessness in Austin created a drive to go beyond the camera and help the subjects of of their photography.

These students wanted to develop a way to combine their love of photography and their desire to make a difference: this became "Faces & Places." In order to directly benefit the people they encountered, they contacted Caritas of Austin, an innovative and multi-layered charity, known for their success in providing people living without homes with food, jobs, education, and hope.
