eventdetail

"Convivencia" means coexistence, and in Texas Early Music Project's season opener they will explore many of the cross-cultural musical ties connecting the three great cultures of early Spain: Muslim, Jewish, and Christian. The concert includes two historically accurate 3D videos in an immersive depiction of the medieval Spanish city of Plasencia, directed by Dr. Roger L. Martínez-Dávila, an academic historian at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs

Glimpses of daily life and cultural interactions are lovingly presented through songs and dances from the 15th and 16th centuries, performed on authentic reproductions of historical instruments.
