The VORTEX presents a whole new experience with a drive-thru performance installation quest: The VORTEX Odyssey. For two weeks only, the resilient artists of The VORTEX are using safety and distancing while creating something live.

The performances will view stories and characters from The Odyssey through an anti-racist, post-apocalyptic lens. They will include the crucial themes of the shifting age, including Black Lives Matter, Systemic Racism, Grand Uprising, Pandemic, and Climate Crisis.

As guests drive through the Manor Road IBIZ district, they can view the performance installations from the safety of their cars. They will be guided by Athena and challenged by Poseidon. They must try to resist the seductive powers of Calypso, Circe, and the Sirens. They might be captured and eaten by the sea monsters Scylla and Charybdis or the giant one-eyed Cyclops. Family units/quarantine mates will be the Voyagers, traveling from island to island on a journey with a puzzle component that will finally bring them home.

There will be staggered entry times throughout each evening, going every half hour from 5:50 pm to 8:50 pm.

All vehicles will need access to a smartphone with a downloaded free app to access sound and close-captioned text for each installation. It is strongly recommend that the phone be plugged into the car audio system through an AUX cable. CDs will be available upon advanced request for those without smartphones/vehicle AUX access.

As a bonus, guests may order Curbside Cocktails to take home with them at the end of their Odyssey from Butterfly Bar. Those who purchase an official VORTEX Membership will get a free quart of Sangria or a bottle of wine to take home with them and other perks at The VORTEX Odyssey Drive-thru.
