Enchanted Rock

Rising out of the mesquite grasslands, Enchanted Rock is an enormous pink granite batholith (underground igneous rock formation exposed by erosion) that has captured the imaginations of humans for centuries. It has been revered as a sacred site by many Texas Native American tribes for ages and continues to be an awe-inspiring site for visitors to this day.

The park reaches capacity (in terms of parking) and frequently closes on weekends (sometimes as early as 11 a.m.) Reopening usually occurs at 5 p.m. Call ahead or have alternate plans if you arrive at the park and find it closed.
