Located about 30 miles west of Austin on FM 3238, Hamilton Pool is a remarkable specimen of Texas geography. The nature preserve consists of a grotto that lies beneath a towering crescent overhang, and visitors typically station themselves on the opposing beach to soak in the breathtaking view. Because careful steps are taken by park officials to ensure the pool's longevity, pets and littering are not tolerated, and guests are only allowed during daytime hours. Hamilton is an ideal gem capable of converting anyone into a nature lover if you're willing to take the long drive to see its beauty.

Beginning in 2016, Hamilton Pool became accessibly via reservation only during the peak summer months.
