Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center

Lady Bird Johnson's memory is well-preserved at this beautiful conservation center and museum. With thousands of native Texas plant species, the Wildflower Center is a fantastic way to see some of the more colorful and unique instances of all the natural wonder of Texas. The Center also does a great job educating young people on the lasting legacy of Mrs. Johnson's efforts to protect Mother Nature. The store on the campus has plenty of memorable plants to take home, and the cafe is a refreshing stop in the middle of the day. The Center has also become a popular Southern Austin location for holding events due to its open spacing, creative landscaping and one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

It definitely takes a full afternoon to walk through the grounds and experience all the Center has to offer. Since the majority of the exhibit is outside, you'll want to to avoid the hottest parts of the day. And bring plenty of water — for you, not the plants.
