With an endless array of art exhibits, cultural celebrations and community events held all year long, The Mexic-Arte Museum does a tremendous job keeping the spirit of Mexico alive in Austin. As one of the few Mexican art museums in the U.S., they provide an educational resource to the youth and adults of Texas who might not otherwise experience the rich traditions and art of this vibrant region. The popular annual Viva la Vida Fest, for example, celebrates Dia de los Muertos and fills the streets of downtown with colorful parade floats, traditional costumes, food, art, and live music. As it continues its growth, the Museum cements itself firmly in the present heart and voice of our historic city.
