Perhaps the largest farmers' market in town, the SFC Farmers' Market has three convenient locations in and around the Austin location. The market was opened in 2003 to a crowd of 3,500, propelling it to the top 10 percent of markets. The goals of the SFC Farmers' Market are to 1) increase the economic vitality of local farms and small businesses; 2) increase awareness, knowledge and action among the Central Texas population about how to positively impact the Central Texas food system and their own health; and 3) create vibrant economically and socially diverse city-centered gathering places.
