When you first walk into The Common Interest, the first thing you'll notice is the sound emanating from every direction. Like any good sports bar, there are approximately as many HD TVs lining the bar as there are customers. Combine this with the drunken celebration taking place on the sizable karaoke stage in the corner, and you're in for a night of blissful aural overload.
Known as Austin's original karaoke bar, Common Interest has been bringing Austinites from all corners to celebrate their special events (or just the fact that it's Tuesday, and there's free karaoke) since 1974. Private karaoke rooms are available to rent, or you can wait it out with the crowd, enjoying their 35 beers, mixed drink specials or food from the grill.
