The plantation-style Victorian mansion that houses Green Pastures Restaurant has been around since 1945, and the Southern charm has been well maintained. You'll want to arrive early to take a romantic stroll around the verdant grounds. Everything is shaded by giant live oaks, and peacocks stroll the grounds uninhibited. Whether you're gathered for a special event (many weddings take place here) or a weeknight dinner date without the kids, the gourmet cuisine is always top-notch and artfully prepared. Salads and appetizers boast the finest ingredients like lobster and quail, and the French-inspired entrees consist of the best meats paired with rich sauces and vegetables. The desserts are so delicious and so beautiful, they're a reason to visit in themselves. Just try to resist the New Orleans-style bread pudding or the indulgent Chocolate Love cake.
Sunday brunch takes place from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. It's pricey, but features one of the most incredible brunch spreads in Austin.
