Tom's Tabooley on Guadalupe is a perfect blend of Mediterranean, Greek and Middle Eastern food with an Austin twist. Tom and Brigid Abdenour have owned and operated Tom's Tabooley since 1975, and you can usually find them chatting up the customers and making everyone feel welcome. They have created a fun, relaxed atmosphere where you can come to study (free wi-fi), play (plenty of board games to choose from) and enjoy fresh, local and environmentally responsible Mediterranean food. The falafel sandwich with fresh tabooley and hummus is mouth watering, a great choice for both falafel lovers and falafel novices alike.
Tom's makes its own hummus, grape leaves and fudge. You can buy them by the pound in the store or at grocery stores all over town.
