Besides the great food and drinks, the Spider House is known for its quaint patio with cobblestone walkways, mismatched furniture and an abundance of seating. Everyone brings their pups to pass the time together and relax in the shade, which is the perfect reason to spark up a conversation.
With the largest patio on Lamar, Central Market offers a safe playplace for your dogs and your kids while you grab a bite at the cafe. There are birds aplenty to keep your pup engaged, but she'll also appreciate relaxing under the giant shady trees as much as you do.
South Congress is a great place for people watching, but your four-legged friends will also enjoy the mix of folks who meet up on Jo's patio in the mornings, evenings and every time in between. Weekend mornings are especially popular on this patio, but night movies and First Thursdays pack the place as well.
The patio outside of the original Austin Java is a popular pet-friendly spot for the folks downtown and around Enfield because you can have your food or coffee out on the shaded wooden patio with your pooch. The porch comes equipped with water bowls, and you're just up the street from Woofgang's Pet Bakery.
Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood along Medical Arts, The Draught House is a friendly dog-friendly beer garden where you can enjoy a pint while your pooch enjoys a bowl (of water). The patio is also non-smoking, so you can breathe easy in the shaded outdoors.
Cherrywood Coffeehouse is the perfect neighborhood cafe to bring your pooch and lounge out all day on the front patio. With plenty of room for even a Great Dane, you can both relax and enjoy the Austin weather after a scenic walk through French Place.
For downtown dog lovers and owners, the Whole Foods on Lamar is a good place to go when spending some personal time with your four-legged friend. Just head in to grab a snack for you and your companion and sit out on the patios to enjoy some quality time.
The Dog & Duck Pub has a cozy outdoor patio and biergarten that are the perfect places to chill and relax with your dog while you work on one of the more than 40 beers on tap. While dogs are welcome outside, it remains to be seen whether pet ducks are cool to bring along.
