Blue Theatre
|
Supporting a wide array of arts programming, the artist-run Blue Theatre has become a fixture in the performance and visual arts culture of East Austin. The space accommodates the many various theater, film, visual art and dance companies of Austin who need a performance or display space for new projects. The high ceilings and large lobby welcome guests into theater and provide ample display space for art exhibitions. The intimate thrust stage is surrounded by the raised seats, allowing intriguing staging and vantage points of the action.
The theater space is set back from the road, so it's easy to miss from the road. But once you've caught the three-tone blue paint that covers the theater, you'll know you made it.
There is only one small restroom for the theater, so it's best to plan ahead or see how long you can wait.
