Coldtowne
The tiny Coldtowne Theater is one of the most electric spaces in Austin, because the audience is practically on stage with the comedians they paid to see. Here, local and touring improv, sketch and stand-up comedians scramble to get their time in this highly coveted spotlight. Currently housed in a dark brick hole-in-the-wall next to I Luv Video on Airport Blvd., the Coldtowne lobby is about twice as large as the couch-lined 30-seat theater. To handle the high traffic of popular nights, shows are booked back to back and audiences herded out the side door of the stage. The continued high attendance of shows and popularity of the acting conservatory are true testaments to the hard work of the ColdTowne originators and the popularity of DIY comedy in this great city of creativity.
You're welcome to bring your own beverages into the theatre. Just make sure you share with the performers upon request.
