Haddingtons
|
Haddingtons is a foodie's safe haven, shielding those with a refined palate from the typical ruckus of West 6th Street. The interior consists of several rooms--from large to small--each baring it's own quirky design aesthetic, but never tending too far from an upscale, British country pub. The cocktail list is a dream, from the bourbon-heavy Duck Fat Sazerac to the classic gin Aviation. Service actually does come with a smile, which only tops off the fresh-out-the-fryer, melt-in-your-mouth experience that is the halibut-made Fish and Chips. Haddingtons is a meat and carb heavy institution where almost every cut is divine. After a meal, you are always encouraged to linger over more cocktails and explore the different rooms. You really get the feeling that you are far and away from the Austin that you know.
If you're a cocktail aficionado, go ahead and test the bartenders. They know how to make almost any classic cocktail not listed on their menu.
