Hula Hut
|
You'll definitely want to try Hula Hut for the curious spectacle of a Hawiian-themed Mexcian restaurant (Tiki-Mex, they've coined it) on the banks of Lake Austin. The tiki torch-lined view from the jutting outdoor patio truly is spectacular, and it's long been a favorite spot for Austinites to spend lazy weekends sipping margaritas and gnoshing on huge plates of nachos. The Polynesian-tweeked menu has a number of diverse flavors for just about every palate, from fried appetizers to macho burgers to enchiladas and tacos. Everything is oversized and filling, especially the fajitas and the stuffed avocado, which is truly an indulgent kitchen miracle. The over-the-top themed fun continues with the rum and fruit juice Hu La La which is served in a fishbowl, just like you always hoped it would be.
Happy Hour lasts from 3:30 - 6:30pm and features $1.00 off margaritas and $.50 off all well drinks.
