Hyde Park Theatre
|
Committed to producing new works using local talent, Hyde Park Theatre has carved a respectable niche in Austin's theatre scene as the honest, in-your-face kind of performance that works best in a small, intimate space like this. WIth under 70 seats, the house packs quickly, and the actors are within arm's reach at all times during the performance. Under the careful guidance of artistic director and regular star Ken Webster, the stakes are always heightened to their breaking point to capitalize on the humor and emotion of each piece. The space is also the home of Frontera Fest, a popular five-week festival of original works by local writers competing to attain a coveted spot in the Best of Fest program.
