Under a giant Oak sits one of Austin's most delicious Vietnamese sandwiches. Since sisters Laura Bayer and Christina Gustavson opened Lulu B's in early 2008, it has been a staple for Austinites and visitors alike. Their big seller is the classic Bahn Mi sandwich, made with your choice of pork, chicken or tofu, garnished with colorful pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, diakon and chili on a flaky baguette. They also offer Vermicelli bowls, spring rolls, smoothies, bubble tea and Vietnamese coffee that can be enjoyed with either hot or iced tea. Take a seat on one of the picnic tables offered and enjoy your tangy lunch.
During peak lunch hours the wait can reach almost 30 minutes. If you don't have time to wait, call in your order ahead of time.
