You might not expect one of the country's best oyster bars to show up in Austin, five hours off the Gulf of Mexico. But thanks to the efforts of Perla's Executive Chefs Lawrence McGuire and Thomas Moorman, Jr., South Congress Avenue is home to a sparkling breeze of a restaurant serving an incredible array of affordable seafood favorites. The huge indoor oyster bar is a bustling center of activity for Austinites with refined palates willing to get their hands a little dirty. But the real experience of Perla's is out on the oak-shaded front patio overlooking the passing SoCo pedestrians. Striped beach umbrellas and twinkling lights create a seaside ambiance to enjoy the perfectly-prepared tastes of the ocean.
Happy Hour happens Mon - Fri from 3-6pm, featuring 50¢ off oysters and $2 off all beverages
