Trudy's Texas Star
|
Since 1977, anyone who has spent time around UT's campus knows the best Tex-Mex comes from Trudy's Texas Star restaurant. It's not quite Mexican food; it's spicier and best when covered in queso. With its wide array of creams, sauces and spices, you'll love Trudy's take on traditional Mexican flavors. Start with the Queso Especial, combining the flavors of guacamole, pico and cheese. The wait time can be a bit of a bear, especially on game days, so luckily you can spend the time in their fully stocked bar. Compliment your mealtime with their famous top-shelf Mexican Martini--it's strong, so the limit is two. For a special weekend event, visit the North Star location on Sunday mornings for all-you-can-eat brunch.
There are drink specials offered every day, but the most famous are Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Sundays feature $2.50 Bloody Marys and Mimosas during brunch and $4.00 House Margaritas after 3pm. Mondays celebrate the $7.00 Mexican Martini. And Tuesdays offer top-shelf margaritas and martinis for house drink prices. Happy Hour runs 2-7pm Monday through Friday.
