The UT Visual Arts Center
|
To address the gaping need for a static exhibition space for Art students at UT, the Visual Arts Center was designed to be an intersection between experimental expression and art education. The brand new exhibit space boasts 25,000 square feet of open architecture, allowing student and faculty artists to see their works in a real gallery setting. The VAC is also promoting a national dialogue by drawing international artists wanting to share their work with Austin's campus and greater community. Because admission is free, everyone is encouraged to stop by and take in the work currently on exhibition.
The best place to park without alerting the campus police is the parking garage along San Jacinto Blvd. There is an exit that puts you out on Trinity, or you can walk through the Art Building if it's open.
