The Texas Relays brings hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators to Austin each spring. This year the sports spectacle takes place Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, March 28 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin.

Whether you're heading out to the event or trying to avoid the traffic, here are the planned street closures for the weekend.

Closures will affect the following streets from 5 pm to 4 am on Friday March 27 and Saturday, March 28.

East Sixth Street between Brazos Street and IH-35 Southbound Frontage Road
San Jacinto Street between East Fifth Street and East Seventh Street
Trinity Street between East Fifth Street and East Seventh Street
Neches Street between East Fifth Street and East Seventh Street
Red River Street between East Fifth Street and East Seventh Street
Sabine Street between East Fifth Street and East Seventh Street

The City of Austin may close additional streets and exit ramps of IH-35 downtown. Keep an eye out for the conditional closures listed below. Conditional closures would also affect streets from 5 pm to 4 am on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28. 

IH-35 Southbound Frontage Round between East Ninth Street and East Fifth Street
IH-35 Southbound exit ramp to Sixth through Eighth streets
IH-35 Southbound exit ramp to Cesar Chavez Street
IH-35 Northbound exit ramp to Sixth Street
East Fourth Street between IH-35 Southbound Frontage Road and IH-35 Northbound Frontage Road
