Good news for those craving a dip in an ice-cold Austin favorite: Barton Springs pool reopens bright and early Monday morning. The announcement was tweeted on Saturday afternoon.
The pool closed in mid-May and has remained closed since the Memorial Day flooding, which caused additional damage. Barton Springs required extensive cleanup, but it's ready to welcome swimmers on June 8 at 5 am.
Other city pools still remain closed. Deep Eddy's shallow end is closed due to "tree instability," reports KVUE. Dottie Jordan Pool's opening is also delayed because of flood damage.
Barton Springs' normal hours are as follows: Sunday through Wednesday, 5 am-10 pm; Thursday, 5-9 am and 7-10 pm; Friday-Saturday, 5 am-10 pm.
