The much-anticipated royal baby has finally arrived. Kate Middleton, duchess of Cambridge and wife of Prince William, gave birth to a 8 lb. 6 oz. baby boy at St. Mary's Hospital's Lindo Wing in London this afternoon.
Thirty-one-year-old Middleton made her way to the hospital around 5:30 this morning London time and delivered naturally with Prince William by her side. The child is now third in line to the throne, behind his grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William and uncle Prince Harry. The child's title will be Prince of Cambridge, after a proclamation made by his great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, earlier this year.
Princess Diana gave birth to Prince William and Prince Harry at St. Mary's as well. The child's name has not been announced yet, and Middleton and child will stay overnight in the hospital.
