In order to raise donations for the Capital Area Food Bank, BuildASign.com spearheaded a very Austin campaign.
CANville Austin asked 13 local companies to create an Austin landmark entirely out of cans. Each team had one week to build the landmark of their choosing out of a minimum of 1,000 cans. (Offers.com used 3,900 to construct the 360 Bridge and the Texas state flag.) The winners were decided by local members of the media as well as Hank Perret, president and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank.
The contest raised 24,668 in can donations and $12,000 in cash. These donations will provide approximately 54,668 meals for hungry Central Texans.
Participating companies included AQUILA Commercial, Blackbaud, CLEAResult, Facebook, Keller Williams Realty, MapMyFitness, Offers.com, OutboundEngine, Rackspace, SailPoint, Samsung and uShip.
