Calling all two-steppers: A new television show is filming at a legendary Texas dance hall, and you can get in on the action.
Samantha Brown's Places to Love, a new PBS series, will film at Gruene Hall, just outside Austin, on Thursday, April 6. "Hot Club of Cowtown will be providing the tunes from 6-10 pm, so we need dancers to fill the dance floor," reads an email announcement from the Gruene Historic District.
Those who attend the free performance, also plugged on Facebook, should prepare to be on camera. "This event will be filmed for a nationally televised show and by being in the hall that evening you agree to being filmed for this broadcast of Places To Love," states the email.
A Dallas native, Brown is a world traveler and longtime Travel Channel host of such shows as Great Weekends, Passport to Europe, Passport to Latin America, and Great Hotels. There are no details yet on when the Gruene Hall episode of Brown's new series will air.
