Sound & Cinema announces stellar lineup of free summer movies and music
Do512 and Alamo Drafthouse have announced a stellar lineup for the third season of Sound & Cinema, a free summer series that features six classic films paired with six amazing local bands.
Every other Wednesday, the series takes over the lawn of the Long Center, bringing a fun matchup in front of an incredible view of downtown Austin. The season begins with a screening of Weekend at Bernie's, featuring Bernie himself, Terry Kiser, who will lead a "Bernie dance."
The summer series lineup is as follows:
June 3: Weekend at Bernie's with Chani and Censi Frances
June 17:The Sandlot with The Nightowls
July 11:Ferris Bueller's Day Off with Otis The Destroyer
July 15:Ghostbusters with LaTasha Lee & The BlackTies
July 29:: The Naked Gun with Hard Proof
August 12:The NeverEnding Story with Calliope Musicals
Sunset concerts start at 7 pm, and movies begin around dusk. Come early to grab some food from the pop-up trailer park (open at 6 pm), which will include the likes of Frank, The Peached Tortilla, Yeti Frozen Custard, Garbo's Maine Lobster, Boomerang's and more. Drinks (both alcoholic and non) will be available for purchase at the Long Center.
