One of the most anticipated movies of the summer contains no superheroes, explosions or popular animated characters. What The Fault in Our Stars does have, though, is a touching love story, an honest portrayal of what cancer is like for young people and a rabid following of fans who love John Green's book, upon which the movie is based.

The film, which opened nationwide on June 6, follows Hazel (Shailene Woodley), a 17-year-old girl living with thyroid cancer. Hazel is brought out of a depressive state when she meets Augustus (Ansel Elgort) at a cancer support group. The two embark on a tentative relationship, exploring young love even as the deadly disease lurks in the background.

In the above video interview, Woodley, Green and Nat Wolff, who plays Isaac, another member of the cancer support group, sat down with CultureMap to talk about making the film, how it affected them and how it's spawned a collaborative relationship that will last longer than just this one film.
