One of the most stacked bills in outlaw country music is coming to Austin next month. News of a special Waylon Jennings tribute concert was announced this week, promising a legendary lineup of stars at ACL Live on July 6.
Outlaw: Celebrating the Music of Waylon Jennings will feature the songs of Jennings and the talents of Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Toby Keith, Eric Church, Kacey Musgraves, Ryan Bingham, Sturgill Simpson, Jamey Johnson, Lee Ann Womack, Chris Stapleton, Shooter Jennings, Jessi Colter and Billy Joe Shaver — with more names poised to join the list.
"Waylon Jennings was my friend, brother and musical soul mate," said Willie Nelson in a release. "Playing his songs with these incredible artists is going to be one hell of a concert event."
This star-studded show will also support Central Texans affected by Memorial Day flooding. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from an exclusive after-party will benefit United Way.
Tickets for the concert go on sale on Monday, June 15 at 10 am. For more information and announcements, visit the show's website. The event will also be filmed and distributed at a later date.
