Austin was one of only four cities in the United States — Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles; and New York were the other three — to host "No Name #1," a tribute concert celebrating the life and music of the late indie folk musician Elliott Smith.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of his death, and Ben Kweller, Dana Falconberry and Nina Diaz were just a few of the performers who joined host Jody Denberg and Smith's sister, Ashley, on stage at the Scottish Rite Theater to help raise awareness about mental health and addiction.

Money from ticket sales in each city went directly to charity. In Austin, funds went to the SIMS Foundation, which has provided mental health and addiction recovery services for Austin musicians since 1995.

Ashley Smith organized the series of tribute concerts, and she spoke to the Austin crowd about the importance of the SIMS Foundation for musicians who are struggling with mental health and addiction like her brother did.

"Musicians give their heart and their soul every day and get us through the tough times," she said. "Sometimes they need help too."
