Austin's Best Rated and Reviewed: Formula 1 & Bazaarvoice produce a music eventfor the hip kids
Oct 1, 2012 | 11:15 am
Let's be real. The artists announced to perform as part of Austin's Formula 1 weekend thus far are a bit... how do we say... old. For those who stopped paying attention to music over a decade ago, Aerosmith with special guest Cheap Trick will perform, as well as Enrique Iglesias of "Hero" fame.
But if you're currently involved in the Austin music scene, Bazaarvoice comes to the rescue with Austin’s Best Rated & Reviewed: A Fan Fest Music Series, a three-day showcase at Cedar Street Courtyard co-hosted by the tech giant and Circuit of the Americas, benefiting of the younger, hipper contingency of our city.
Produced by AvecMode (also behind SXSW's Style X), the bill looks like one that would fit comfortably in at SXSW, featuring much buzzed about bands, DJs and singer-songwriters like Sahara Smith, DJ Orion of the Peligrosa All-Stars, Quiet Company, Feathers, Shakey Graves, Sara Hickman and The Midgetmen.
“We are excited to have Austin’s ‘Best Place to Work’ showcasing some of Austin’s best musical talent before the hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world visiting our hometown this November,” Circuit Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer Geoff Moore said in a press release.
While the moneybags might be out at the track each day of the weekend, Austin's Best Rated & Reviewed stands to be a fine opportunity for brands participating in Formula 1 to position themselves in front of a different set of Austin influencers — powerful in their own right.
