We still have four months until South By Southwest, but the festival is showing some love for its hometown now by releasing a limited number of music wristbands — for Austinites only.

The sale began at 10 am on Thursday, November 19, and will run until the wristbands sell out. Music wristbands are only available for Austin-area residents whose billing ZIP code of the purchasing credit card is on the approved list.

The festival has already announced hundreds of artists for the 2016 lineup. Big names like Crystal Castles, Thee Oh Sees, Har Mar Superstar, Mercury Rev, Josh Kelley, MC Lars, Monika, New Politics, Anamanaguchi, Yuck, Diarrhea Planet, and Son Little have been confirmed. A bevy of industry bigwigs and innovative artists will be hosting panels including keynote Talib Kweli.

Austin artists also abound. Representing the local scene are The Nightowls, The Band of Heathens, A Giant Dog, Dana Falconberry & Medicine Bow, Jon Dee Graham, William Harries Graham & The Painted Redstarts, and Hard Proof, just to name a few.

SXSW Music wristbands are $169 each; only two can be purchased at a time. For those who miss out on this round, there will be a second sale in the new year.

SXSW Music runs Tuesday, March 15 through Sunday, March 20.
